Prerequisite: Master’s degree in theology or ministry (M.Div., M.A., or Th.M.)


Program Overview

The Doctor of Ministry is the highest professional degree for those actively engaged in ministry—and not ready to coast. It’s designed to deepen your theology, sharpen your practical leadership, and unleash creative, Spirit-filled solutions for the real world.

You’ll research what actually matters in your context.
You’ll design and test real solutions in your ministry field.
You’ll walk with a cohort of firebrands and reformers.
You’ll wrestle with God in the silence—and emerge with a word for this generation.

Curriculum Breakdown

1. Core Theological Reflection (9 Credit Hours)

  • The Leader as Theologian: Leading from the Deep Well – 3 credits
  • Kingdom Imagination: Theology in Context – 3 credits
  • Advanced Hermeneutics & Preaching in a Post-Christian World – 3 credits

2. Spiritual and Personal Formation (6 Credit Hours)

  • Rhythms of Renewal: Preventing Burnout in Long-Term Ministry – 3 credits
  • The Inner Life of a Leader: Ego, Identity, and the Cross – 3 credits

3. Missional Praxis & Innovation (9 Credit Hours)

  • Missional Leadership in a Fragmented World – 3 credits
  • Community Formation & Discipleship Systems – 3 credits
  • Ministry Innovation Lab: Experimenting with New Models – 3 credits

4. Doctoral Research & Project (12 Credit Hours)

  • D.Min. Research Methods & Proposal Design – 3 credits
  • Field Research + Ministry Implementation – 3 credits
  • Final Project Writing & Oral Defense – 6 credits

Project Options May Include:

  • Designing a church plant model for post-Christian cities
  • Creating a trauma-informed discipleship framework
  • Building a nonprofit ministry structure for marginalized populations
  • Developing a preaching curriculum for the deconstructed generation
